Endo Units
The mission of our board-certified physicians
is to provide both comprehensive patient medical care and expertise
with regards to endoscopic procedures. Many of our patients are eligible
to have their endoscopic procedures performed in our office endoscopy
units*.
Our Norfolk and Chesapeake offices have each received full accreditation
by the American Association of Ambulatory Health
Care (AAAHC). This national recognition of excellence underscores
our determination to provide expert patient care within state of the
art facilities. We constantly monitor our patient outcomes and consistently
meet or exceed the national standards of polyp detection and care.
We perform endoscopy at both our Norfolk and Chesapeake offices. Both
units are staffed by highly trained and experienced nursing and medical
personnel. Our staff adheres to the highest standard of infection
control and guidelines. The range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
we perform in our office endoscopy units include:
• Upper endoscopy (EGD)
• Esophageal dilation
• Colonosocopy, both diagnostic for colon cancer screening
and therapeutic to remove polyps if necessary
• Small bowel enteroscopy
• Small bowel capsule endoscopy (M2A)
The physicians and staff of Gastroenterology Associates of Southeastern
Virginia are committed to providing optimal patient care. We hope
that you will be pleased with the care and services that we provide.
* The decision of who can have their procedure performed in the office
is based on several factors including, but not limited to, complicating
health factors, schedule availability and insurance contracts. Not
all insurances have contracted with us to provide endscopic services
in our certified office units so those patients may have to have their
procedures performed in an outpatient hospital setting.
