Scott Yagel, MD
Dr. Scott Yagel was
born in Washington, D.C. He graduated with Bachelor's of Science degrees
in Biochemistry and Pre-Med from Penn State. He earned his medical
degree from Hahnemann Medical College in Philadelphia. He completed
his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Portsmouth Naval
Hospital, and his fellowship in gastroenterology at the Naval Medical
Center in San Diego. His assignments in the Navy included Naval Hospitals
in Guam and Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. He completed his Naval service
as Head of Gastroenterology and Endoscopy at the Naval Medical Center
in Portsmouth. He also served as Head of Gastroenterology at the VA
Medical Center in Hampton. Dr Yagel has been board certified in gastroenterology
since 1995.
Dr. Yagel joined Gastroenterology Associates in February
of 2006. His professional interests include inflammatory bowel disease,
GERD, colorectal cancer, hepatobiliary disease and therapeutic ERCP.
Dr Yagel has served as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Uniformed
Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD.
