Alex Williams, MD
Dr. Alex Williams
was born in Lagos, Nigeria and attended the University of Ibadan in
Nigeria for both his undergraduate and medical degrees. He received
his M.Sc. in Community Medicine at the College of Medicine, University
of Newcastle Upon Tyne, England, UK. While in England, he was accepted
into the Royal College of Physicians (UK). Upon arriving in the United
States, he completed his internal medicine residency at the University
of Connecticut. He then completed his gastroenterology fellowship
at the University of Virginia. Dr. Williams has been board certified
in gastroenterology since 2001.
Dr. Williams joined Gastroenterology Associates in July of
2001. His professional interests include colorectal cancer, occult
GI bleeding, M2A capsule, hepatology and ERCP. Dr. Williams serves
as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Internal Medicine at Eastern
Virginia Medical School. Dr. Williams is very proud to have become
an American citizen in May 2003.
