Michael Sperling, MD
Dr. Michael Sperling
was born in Plainfield, New Jersey. He earned a Bachelor’s
of Science in Pharmacy at the University of North Carolina, and his
medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania, where he
was the Chief Resident of Internal Medicine. He completed his gastroenterology
fellowship at University of Virginia. Dr. Sperling has been board
certified in gastroenterology since 1981.
He joined Gastroenterology Associates in July of 1980. His
professional interests are in colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel
disease, irritable bowel syndrome, celiac disease, chronic constipation,
chronic abdominal pain, M2A capsule, and GERD. Dr. Sperling is an
Assistant Professor of Clinical Internal Medicine and a mentor to
first and second year students at Eastern Virginia Medical School.
